How do we know our world is real and not an advanced virtual reality?

It may be a possibility, but in physics you know that making observations beyond the observable (and not even getting a hint about it) is essentially meaningless. If you can't get out of this "reality" to prove that it is a fantasy or a re-creation of something else, what does it matter?
